I have the chance to get a complete car for $300. It has the 2.4 in it(why I called) but has had oil pan damage and seized the motor. My question is if the transmission is the same for our automatics. It has a rebuilt tranny and I'd buy it, pull the motor, and part it out to whoever needed parts from it here to make back my losses. Would it be worth it?

Rebuilt stock or rebuild performance trans? We "should" have the same trans for auto...
I would think you'd make yoru money back by parting it out, as long as you want to go through the trouble of pullign everything out.

Well I'd have to have it moved about 100 miles. So I figure about $100 to do that. Since it was siezed due to the lack of oil, I have to wonder if there was cylinder wall damage. I need a motor that has to have the glaze broken so I can use my SRT pistons/rods. I'll see how everything works out. If I can get a definate buyer for the trans for about 300 or a little more for my time then I'd offer him what he wants for the car but just leave everything but the drivetrain. I really don't room for it now. I'll see in another week.
