I notice that after i drive my car, it has a weird smell. Could it be the nitrous? Even if i dont use it. it still smells. Its smells like something stale and old, like old wet car mats, but this smell is in the engine bay. Could any of you have a clue what it is.

I always thought of that smell as the smell of rubber coming from the belts. IMO if you are up to snuff on your maintenance, I wouldn't worry about it.

I would deffinatly check for something smoking or burning...I'm sure if you popped your hood, and sniffed hard enough, you can track it down.

My cold air intake smelled mildewy... Especially when you'd start it up, then it'd get less as it dried out. Once I replaced the filter, it went away. No idea how that got into the passenger compartment but it was very noticeable.

The other day my upper rad hose blew a leak and sprayed funky, old "coolant" all over the engine compartment. It smells f-ing awful. Like mildewy floor mats or something. Its like rotten fruit or something sweet and rotten. Blah! Check your upper and (more often neglected) lower radiator hoses for pin hole leaks. You might have spray marks on the underside of your hood if. Good luck!

Check the coolant, it burns to a funny smell... kind of fruity-ish... Mine has a funky smell like it... but my head gasket has seen better days.
Also a cat failing will smell like rotten eggs.
