i wanna flush the radiator with the radiator flushing fluid stuff and refill it but where is the drain? on the bottom of the radiator or do i pull on of the hoses off and where do i fill it? when i got the flushing stuff in there do i turn the car over to circulate it?

what brand of flush did you get? I used the Zetex super flush(cost me 4 or 5 bucks)....the procedure(if I can remember right)

drain the system(the plug is towards the passanger side at the bottom of the radiator(you can't miss it), and you don't need to jack the car up to get to it....well, with that front end you may, but look under there and see.

once everything has stopped draining, re-tighten the plug and fill the whole system up w/water.

once it's filled, turn the car on and let it idle(with the heat on) for like 10 minutes or so.

let it cool down a bit, and drain it again.

put your plug back in, pour the bottle of radiator flush in, and fill the rest of the system up w/water.

drive it for a total of 4-6 hours. I forgot the first day and had this stuff in for like 3-4 days till I remembered.

flush it and re-fill with 50/50 antifreeze and water.

It sounds like a long process, but it goes really quickly and you'll be amazed at how much crap comes out when you flush it the last time. Mine was pitch black.

REMEMBER TO READ THE DIRECTIONS on the container BEFORE you do the work. Different Flushes work differently.

Just a word of advice, use distilled water to fill up your radiator. If your just flushing it run it with tap water but when you fill it back up with coolant and stuff use distilled water. That way you won't have to worry about rust and all.

Yeah, you can do that. If you let it sit for a day, the chlorine will evaperate, which is the biggest thing to worry about. Personally, I'd spend a couple of bucks and get bottled water so you don't have to worry about calcium deposits, flouride or any other contaminates.

i agree that the distilled water is the best, but simply letting water evaporate a little won't take the heavier metal junk and minerals out of the water. it's the mineral content in the water that will adhere itself to the inside of the radiator and everything else and form what is called scale. distilled water IS the evaporated water that was re-condensed ...NOT the water that was left behind after some had evaporated. doing that will simply increase the ratio of the mineral content. buy the distilled water in the supermarket, it's cheap enough.
