so i may need to get a new clutch. i'm thinking i'll just buy some crappy kit for around $100, i don't really race or anything. but since i'll have the tranny open should i put a new/better flywheel in? i don't want to spend too much money, no more than $500. which do you think i should get?

You answered your own question. If you don't race no need for high performance. And to me if it came to getting a new flywheel or a better clutch, than I would go with the clutch. Fidanza flywheel is about $350+. Don't know what cheaper ones go for nor what good clutches go for now. I got my SPEC stage 3, last year for $420.
