44364, Just Installed My Non-Modular Clutch!! Posted by DSM_Tuner, Feb-14-03 05:07 AM
Ok all day yesterday I was installing my CM Stage 3 Non-Modular Clutch and 95 Neon Flywheel Setup. We tore everything down and went ot the dealer to pick up those 6 bolts and the 8 bolts that I had ordered on monday. they said only the six came in, and the other 8(the ones that bolt the flywheel to the crank) would come in on friday. Well this just wouldn't do. I had to have them now! so I took the 6 bolts went back to the shop. Just for kicks I tried putting the flywheel up there and then putting a bolt from my eclipse drive plate in there. It Fits! seems like it has about 6 threads holding it in? So i said said Fu#k it lets do it. we got everything back together. I took it for a test drive and it shifs good no noises or anything all is good. then a couple miles down the road only when I am up to speed like above 35 or so ... it makes this clanging noise or something sounds like a bearing or something is spinning uneven or some shit? no matter what I do the noise is still there. push in the clutch, let off.... neutral it doesn't matter. but it doesn't do it when I am sitting at idle? any ideas? Hey "JustOne" did u have any problems like this?

I hope you used red loctite on those bolts. Also, I'm not sure if you have to install the stock centering ring on the neon flywheel or not, but I did with my fidanza. If you needed to do that and didnt, then the clutch disk is not centered between the pressure plate and flywheel.
