Hey would there be any problem with one of these UDP's off of ebay? They are about half as expensive as Howells... Has anyone tried one? Let me know!

thats the one i have. n0 problems at all. its almost the exact same thing as the afx. it doesn't have the holes for easy removal though.

That's the exact same one I have, cept mine is anodized blue. The only problem I had was the main bolt that goes thru the center there vibrated loose once. I replaced the bolt and torqued it down real good and no problems since. It's been fine for like 4 months(knock on wood).

I have that one too... it works great! And it installs 1000 times easier than the AF/x. His shipping is fast (FedEx). The AF/x UDPs are really overpriced IMO.

Would different belts be needed??? if yes, does anyone have part #'s of various belt brands?

Nevermind, it says it comes with a list of part #'s.

Doesn't look like it has a steel ring around where the crank goes. These things are annoying enough to remove, imagine if it corrodes in place... Also, how do you get a puller on it? You can't use a harmonic dampener removal tool, and there is no way that you can get a 3 jaw puller in there to pull it off. I would just go with the AFX, since I trust that pulley. Unless you like cutting crank pulleys off. :rolleyes -=B-=

its has little notches in the back. you can get it off with a small 3jaw puller.

44233, RE: Ebay UDP?? Posted by dougie2, Feb-12-03 12:38 PM
yep... 3 notches for a puller. I've taken mine off and back on, no problem. You get part numbers for 3 different brand belts. Get GATES brand belts from NAPA. They're the best belts and will give you NO problems/squeeks/squeels. It really is a great pulley! Screw spending $160 on the overpriced AF/x stuff... I paid $79 SHIPPED for this pulley and it's my most cost effective purchase for power right under nitrous and turbo.

Are they 30% underdrive? If not, what percentage?

i bought one from "top fuel" off ebay for 68 bucks i think, i got silver and put it on in about 45 minutes, couldn't have gone more perfect, slight problem where it had been dropped prior to my recieving of it so i had to sand out scratches in belt grooves, but other than that install was great and straight forward. Performance wise i was like, wtf, i feel no gain, but eventually i convinced myself i did , oh well, i guess i get what i pay for.

really you couldn't tell a big diffence. i basically have the same mods that you do except i have a 60mm tb, header and my head is also ported and i felt a big difference. just the change in weight should have made a noticable differnce.
