Ok I have been visiting Neon boards lately checking out what they got and what we dont. I see that they just came out with an Indy Intake Manifold that added 49.6hp to the wheels on a midly modded car. Cost was only $500, not bad for that big of a gain.

Howell, BlackDog, and AFX seem to make more stuff for the neon than the 2GNT. What is up with that?? The Neon has AFX ECUs for all years (95-99) with two options Race\Strip but only offer very limited years for the Eclipse.

Anyway, has anybody on here had there intake manifold hone, or port and polished?? Who offers this service?

I have my jeep 60MM Throttle body and I want my intake manifold to match it or I want an after market one. 50+hp sounds good to me...wish we had something like that..Can anyone help us on this. ARD was a company I was talking to for 80$ they will port match my intake minifold and polish it..but I want to have BIG HP gains.

That is the dyno chart. 49.66 hp. Uncorrected it made 54.34 hp and 38.83 ft lbs at the same rpm.

it its a beautiful manifold and howell has the rights to it since they both together devolped the manifold...




and to answer the question as to why the neons guys get more stuff cause they shell out the cash for stuff...

if i was to build a custom product for the neone guys that they didn't ahve id have 10-20people waiting on list to buy it over here maybe 5? if any that ive seen from my past expirence on the clutch kits...

I bet something as good as that, with dyno proof backing it up, you'll have no problem getting 10+ people I'm sure brother.

If anyone can do this I'm the first in on it I will pay...

i dunno man, hearing something like "i saw an intake manifold that gave 50 whp" is hard to believe.u shoulda had a link with ur first post to back up wat u wrote. how many ppl have this intake manifold? do u think that dyno is really clean? i mean if a turbo gives 50 whp with 5psi how can a block of metal give half of that.

Well the proof is there on the dyno chart. Now post somepics ofthe manifold.

I would also like to know what there conception of a "mildly modified car" is. Shit, 50hp on a NA motor is damn near impossible with out crazy compression, lots of head work and really big cams.

this is total BS. I'm not shooting you down or anything dood, it is just physically impossible for an intake manifold to up the hp 50 on the 420a. I don't care what that dyno says - who knows what else isn't being stated about the setup.

yea i would say around 20whp and mabye more if used on high psi.

guys, look at the dyno.

peak hp only went up 25whp (still, VERY impressive). peak power went from 115 to 139.

the 50whp gain was made up top where the stock manifold had trouble flowing.

the chart shows that thro much of the powerband, there was about a 10hp increase, until up high, where the stock manifold just cant flow enough. thats were the impressive gains are at.

eh, i dunno... seems kinda sketchey to me. i'll believe it when i see an independent dyno review from multiple sources.

it's hard to believe that by just tuning the intake system on a naturally asperated 420a that can achieve about 25 WHP. almost sounds too good to be true. besides, my faith in Howell right now isn't too good.

venom makes one for our cars, granted it needs to be drilled and tapped for vacuum hoses,etc.. its a nice manifold, I havent seen anyone with one, but its 499 from venom...

and yes its def. possible to make 25whp from a redesigned manifold, there are ALOT of casting flaws/protrusions etc. in our manifold that just hurt performance..
