Have a few questions...I want am planning on raising compression...now do i need to get forged rods too or are the stocks going to be able to hold up? next, what is required to go with 12.5 compression..I am planning on getting an AFC of sometime, but will i need anything else to run that high? thanx guys.

You'll want the ability to retard timing, so an ignition amp with timing retard. This is a safety measure to prevent detonation. With a stock ECU you might be okay, but the AFX advances timing too much. S-AFC is good, make sure your have a good intake and exhaust set up. Also cams would be a very good idea. An increase in valve overlap would help to prevent detonation as well.

Don't keep the stock rods, go with the forged so they can handle the power if you ever want to run nitrous or turbo on that 12.5:1 bottom end with race gas, it can be done.
