42864, Transmition fluid
Posted by Collente, Jan-27-03 02:33 AM
I had my clutch put in by a shop and they did a horrible job. They must have put the shittiest transmition fluid in theire they could find, that or the just wipped it out and pissed in their. I am getting ruff shifts and grinding till it warms up a little. I read a little about the BG syncroshift. Where to buy, anything particular that I should get. Or just tell the people that I need some bg syncroshift? Or is this even the best to buy?
TIA!

I put bg Syncro Shift in my car which I purchased directly from the mitsu dealer. My trans shifts smoother than ever! It practically falls into gear. Hope that helps.

If I were you, I'd look through all the old posts on tranny fluid before you go to BG syncroshift. Our trannys are meant for the Mopar oem fluid ONLY. There have been a lot of people that have started messing with their fluids and shortly after had a busted tranny. Besides, the Mopar fluid is very good stuff. I use it and mine shifts like butter after 90k miles and quite a bit of turbo'd abuse.

^ What he said. People switch to that BG syncroshift and usually come back to the forum and say, "well, wish i would have listened" :-) Previous owner of my car failed to tell me when he had a new clutch put in the week before i bought the car, he didnt use the OEM fluid, i blew up the tranny in a year w/ 30K miles on it...

Most top end dealerships stock and sell BG line. many of their service department recommend their products while servicing the vehicles. if you want to try some, call around to you local audi,bmw,volkswagen,cadillac,jaguar,ect... dealerships.

or be safe and use the dealer products.

crap... i just bought acquired some BG from Mach V. the general consesus is that it's bad? argh...
...it really kills transmissions? i don't want to deal with getting more fluid.

I personaly wouldn't worry. it is a really popular thing to say DEALER ONLY. call MACH V and ask their opinion. I'll bet you get a different opinion.

you know what they say about opinions:P . until someone posts that they blew their perfectly operating trans from BG, I will keep my opinion.

If you are gonna call anyone, I would call the makers of the tranny. Personally though, I have read many threads about this exact same topic and have had discussions as to why our transmission is supposed to use the mopar fluid only with very very smart people. Basically, I strongly advise you to go with the mopar stuff.
