What kind of tool is used to get the bearing in. From the looks of it a press would be the only thing to get it in. Is there any other special tool that can put it in?

I put the bearing in the freezer for a day or so and used a blow torch to heat up the hole but I could only get it in about 1/3 of the way.

If I can buy a tool to do it I would much rather do that then have someone (tranny shop) put it in.

a deep socket to fit over the bearing/seal assy, and a hammer. beat it in.

Are you kinding? If it was a solid looking bearing i would do that but it doesnt look like it can take the hammer method. Did you do it and did it work? for 50 a pop I don't think I want to break too many of them.

I used a sleg to get the old one out though

The input shaft bearing is a solid steel one piece seal/roller bearing assembly that projects into the clutch housing anh reains the TO bearing. Are we talking about the same part?

I'd use a press if you got one nearby, otherwise do what Dino said and just hammer it in there. It might not want to go in b/c you have it cocked a tad. I had to make a jig to hold the tranny together when I did some synchros in one awhile back in votech school.

Yep, we are talking about the same bearing...I will look alittle more close at it and see if it looks do able. Thanks for that help..
