I finally found the right adapter nut to my oil cooler. It's 3/4 just in case some of you don't know. Got it at Frey Racing in San Jose, so if you wanna build an oil cooler kit I highly recommend them, they have the sandwich adapter. I wouldn't suggest getting the B&M kit not because the oil cooler is monstrous and top quality but their customer service sucks ass. I called them and they told me that I should have ordered the right kit and that they only sold kits not adapters. I was like man I bet they don't even make em, they probably put them together from other parts and sell it as a kit.

I mounted it in the bumper scoop on the passenger side. The cooler is so big though that the scoop only covers part of the cooler. Thing gets really hot and the low oil pressure light went on for like 20 seconds until it filled up with oil. That can't be good, I had to fill it up with 1.5 quarts or oil too, that's how much that cooler can handle! Hopefully my turbo and engine will run happier now. I've put them through hell, with the oil sensor bursting and all. Well B&M Super cooler it's good but make sure you DON't order the kit for a Mustang 4.6L, it doesn't fit, the adapter does but not the nut. I think the ones for Chryslers fit, but I'm not sure. I'll post again after I've thoughroly tested it, but I'm pretty sure there really isn't anything to test but leaks :P

Heh I don't think I gained any horse power. The car seems peppier though. I guess it's good in a sense that it give me peace of mind that my engine will most likely not overheat and my turbo will stay a little cooler. Also running my car on dem hot days will make me feel better about using AC. :) Should help my oil last a bit longer too.

Make sure your hoses are double clamped or convert everything to AN fittings!

You don't want any oil hose popping off and spilling your precious synth oil all over the road... :(

I've been curious about this for awhile...

do you run the oil cooler "before" the turbo to keep the turbo as cool as possible, or run it "after" the turbo to keep your engine temp down?

i'm curious too. i had planned on running my turbo's oil line and my oil cooler in the same circuit, one right after the other. but recently i was told that it was a bad idea because that would keep the oil inside the turbo pressurized and it would blow through the seals prematurely. i was told to have the oil fed into the turbo under pressure, but let the other side drain by gravity into the pan. anybody have another take on this?

You should defintiely gravity feed the drain oil back into the pan from a turbo. if you put a cooler in between, that will act like a restriction. that could cause the oil to coke in the turbo or bust seals like you said.

Oil coolers usually come with a so called "THERMOSTATIC OIL ADAPTOR" or in other words an oil sandwich filter adaptor that allows you to divert oil flow to a cooler.

Yeah mine uses a sandwich adapter, so it cools oil b4 it goes to the oil filter. It's all good as long as it cools something down :P
