42101, 2.4 bottom end uprgrade not getting good throttle respose Posted by defebo, Jan-19-03 10:52 AM
I have done everything I was suppose to. I rewired the injectors, moved the cam magnet 90 degree counter clockwise and switch the wires 1 & 3 on the coil. Everything seems to be running fine, except when I really get on the throttle. The car does not want to go and sometimes tries to stall out. The timing is fine! Does anyone know what I should do? What front passenger side motor mount are people using, and where could I get one?

its possible your getting enough fuel or air to the motor because of more displacment, pull your plugs see waht color they are white or very light colors = lean and adark colors = rich
im thinking your not feeding the motor enough...
p.s. what oil pan did u use?
noone has a solution other then custom mount for the passenger side....

did you also rewire the fuel pump, and did you get bigger injectors but if you didn't get bigger injectors then using a apexi s-afc, would be fine then

Did you put bigger injectors or you are running the stock ones of the 2.0L ?

What is your LTFT and STFT under part throttle? If you're close to or on 25% lean condition - then you probably need bigger injectors.

You don't need a custom mount for the passenger side. You need a bracket that bolts from the engine to the mount. The mount itself is held on with some VERY serious bolts to a large bracket (if you will) that then connects to the block.
You can either use the 2.4L pan with cutting away the "I" beam (structurally weakening your car) or creating a new "I" beam. Or talk to the The1Bill who should have some answers about these Q's pretty soon :)

42217, You need more FUEL... Posted by Skrilla, Jan-20-03 10:48 AM
...You've done everything EXCEPT address your fuel problem. You DO NOT need bigger injectors. You need an afc and fuel pump rewire. Actually the rewire might be enough (I haven't tested that though), in either case you need some fuel control. The stock inj with enough pressure is more than enough for just the 2.4L swap.
