I just got finished installing my new block and now I'm getting the PCM code 36 which is now obsolete with the 96+. I know it has to do with the Legacy code - Pulsed secondary air injection recalled and removed in '96. My question is how do I reset or set it so my check engine light doesn't stay on?!? Anyone else run into this problem?!? Do I have to take it to SATAN to do for me?!?

do you still have pulsed injection?? did you get it recalled? if you didnt thats why its comming on. i have heard from alot of 95 guys that you have to get satan to fix it and clear the codes. im pretty sure you cant even clear the codes, those too, i believe satan must clear. dont quote me on all this, but thats what i have heard from alot of 95 guys.

No, I had it removed by the dealer. That's why I don't understand why it came back on. Well if I need to take it in, so be it...

Did you change ECU's or something.
I thought satan flashed the ECU's with the new program deleting the Pulsed air checking.

Actually I did! My old ECU died on me. Is there any way to flash it myself?!?

then thats your prob. im sure the ECU you got still has the pulsed code in it. doubt you can flash it yourself. im sure they load a different kind of something in there from a computer so youd need that software...and i doubt satan will want to start giving that away. go to satan and have it flashed. tell them that its a new ECU and they may do it for free.
