Posted by drbalazo7, Jun-27-01 03:26 AM
I want to remove my ecu and replace it with the lap top system, if you know what I am talking about. I want to know how much will that run me and what do I need to do to get it, other than money of corse. just in case you don't know what I am talking about and you saw the movie "THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS", the part when the guy is racing the eclipse and controlling all of his system with a lap top.
any help will be helpfull..............thanx

Sigh,

the thing the fast and foolish is stirring up. Regardless, you would need to get a standalone or piggyback ecu management system. Several companies make them, but you will not just buy one and go without lots of experience. Expect to spend upwards of $1000 easy plus lots of time tuning. You do not need a setup like this unless you are making pretty good power or are just really bored or maybe just ricey ;)

Oh, and the one HRC uses is the Accel which is setup as a piggyback setup. I have this setup as well.

i agree with murix. don't get it unless you need it or else it's just rice.

Have you ever thought about driving 80mph on the highway, and just like that your MS powered laptop hangs?!! All circuits that operate your car....gone in 2 seconds!!!!!!

have fun.

...what's known as a "Stand Alone". Electromotive makes one for us(and the Neon engine Variant), Haltech and there are a few others. I plan on staying "piggy back", which like Murix says, still utilizes the factory PCM and while the electronics modify and trick the PCM. Systems like that are the SAFC, AIC, SAFR, ITC and some others out there.

well,
the venom doesn't work on most cars. If you can find a way to boost the voltage going to the controller it should work
