4149, What should i do...
Posted by MrClean125, Jun-27-01 01:33 AM
I am eventually going to get an HRC stage 2 kit w/ FMIC and later on upgrade to a stage 3 w/ built internals. My questions it this...its going to take me a while to save up for the stage 2, but i want a some more power right now to tide me over. My power addiction has grown =)
Should i get headers and/or exhaust and/or UDP or just stay with only my intake? Will i have to replace a UDP when i get the kit? I have heard you dont have to replace it. I dont mind spending some for the parts now even if i cant use them b/c i can always sell them later.

What should i do?

Get the exhaust, and udp - they both can stay there - just make sure you get the turbo version of the exhaust (GST) - the underdrive pulley has nothing to do with the kit. Headers will have to be removed. Good luck.

If you know you are going turbo don't get anything you will be replacing. So no don't do the headers, you will already have to get rid of your intake so no need to have more spare parts. I would go UDP which you won't mess with. Also do something for exhaust. Simplest being GS-T muffler. But if you really want to prep for the turbo, go with a nice 3" cat-back (downside is that you will loose some bottom end with this until you turbo). You can get the AFX 55mm throttle body, also you can get your intake manifold ported and polished, both will help your airflow turbo'd.
