40907, Howell ECU and Crower top end kits Posted by 2hot97GS, Jan-05-03 08:11 AM
Okay.. first off i need to know a few things about both products starting with the ECU first, how much does it cost with/without core? can it be used with nitrous and/or turbo? what is the new redline and do the springs and retainers have to be replaced to reach the new, higher redline? my other question is with the crower kit of springs and retainers... how high are they rated to rev? and should i buy new valves from them when i do? oversized or stock size? what would be the benefit of oversized valves? thanks to all ahead of time.

$350.00 with core, $500.00 without
>can it be used with nitrous and/or turbo?
no, its advances thei timing way to much. >what is the new redline and do the springs and retainers >have to be replaced to reach the new, higher redline?
redline is 8200, i beleive, dont know about the springs and retainers.

the howell ecu is made for non turbo from what ive heard it would advance timing too far to be useful inturbo situations nitrius itd probably work,
the stock valves and springs will rev that high its kinda pushing it,
crower springs will go as far as u can rev it 10krpm? u got rpms man?
the oversized valves will give u more flow in and out of the sylinders and are stronger for forced induction situations
os valves are 230$ from blackdog but u still need a valve job rom a local shop to make them work around a 100$ for that
no u dont need them, would help though
