is this actually a 56mm bore or just a 55mm bore like the one you can get from howell ???

Same 55mm from Howell. I think it's just a difference in measuring.

Anyone know from experience if this 56mm bored TB makes a noticable power boost over the stock TB.

yeah ask Michael he says a diff...you can notice. think about it more airflow in = more power. i should have mine in 2 weeks. i am gonna sell my stock one.

Yeah I noticed the difference, and you can hear the motor just sucking the air in. Definately worth the $150 I paid for it. ($50 used TB, $100 Howell porting)

So is it hard to install it say if I were to buy that whole new unit from ptunning? and is there hp rating that they give accurate?

Two bolts and a couple of torx head screws. Easy as long as you have a set of torx head screw drivers. I do suggest getting a new TB gasket for the install, only a few bucks at SATAN. Also do the Throttle plate adjustment when you are done.

What HP rating do they have?

Well they said about 4-6 hp. They about right?

Intall is easy but getting the sensors off your old TB and put on your new TB might be hard. I had to take mine to the mitsu dealer to have them removed. They used an impact driver. They did it for free just had a make a trip down there.

That was the hardest part.

hey Mike, you said its only $150 for the tb? how come ptuning is charging $279? I want one too for 150 then I could port the manifold to match it..

Thura you whoos, can't you turn a torx screwdriver :P. I actually did the install on a lunch hour. Ran home and did it.

The $279 is a price for a new TB. I picked up a used Throttle body for $50. Then sent it to Howell to do the porting for $100. If you find yourself a used TB somewhere and send it to Howell/AFX you will be okay.

i you buy a used throttle body which one do you want to get? 1st gen or 2ndgen? which one is bigger?

that 1st gen tb is a 4g63 thing as i remember one knowlegable person telling me on this board when i first became a member. get a used 2g t/b and have it bored i am getting a new one for hassle reasons. also i like new otherthan used for some reason.

yeah i bought one from stan and was gonna have it bored but its ugly as fuck so im gonna swap it with mine, send mine to get bored, and swap them again. if any one wants to buy that ugly thing off of me when its all done let me know you could do the same thing. we could all play pass the throttle body!!!! yay!!!
