4046, cam gear adjustment for crane cams.

Well, since I ran into ANOTHER roadblock from putting my motor in today, i figured I woudl take a look at my cam gears again and write down the differences in the new centering marks vs. teh aem centering marks. seems that my marks on the intake can gear are 7 grooves (counting groves instead of teeth) before the original marks (that's counter clockwise) and the exhaust cam is just the opposite 7 groves after the original marks (clockwise). the intake cam gear has to be advanced 4 degrees to put the cam in spec also. I will see if I can squeeze any more power out of it when I hit the dyno (if I can ever get TO the dyno!). I guess that would mean that the cams are about 60 or so camshaft degrees away from what they SHOULD have been. oh well. at least mine is right ;)

I thought all that was worked out with Crane. Didn't Adel just order his cams and they howell told him it was all fixed? Why don't you send yours back to Crane and get the fixed ones?

I am DONE with crane cams. I was the FIRST one to send back my cams......in DECEMBER!! I just got them back a couple of weeks ago and they are STILL off. at least they fit now. I posted about it when I got my cams back. I think it is in the archives.
