4035, Oil in sparkplug hole.. Posted by guest, Jun-25-01 02:39 PM
Not Mine!!!! Thank God....But my freinds 95 Monte Carlo Z34. One of his spark plug holes has a lot of oil in it. What could this be? I thought someone on here would know some probable causes. Maybe blown ring? Gasket? BTW his engine is a lot like ours. Dual overhead cam (like ours) 3.4 liter V6. He says he heres a ticking noise coming from it too.

Yeah it's the valve cover. I'm not sure but I don't think GM uses rings around the spark plug wells, they just use gasket maker(RTV). Just have him buy a valve cover gasket and some RTV (black) and seal everything up. Should be a very quick job. Just let the RTV sit for 24 hours to harder and cure.

LAST EDITED ON 26-Jun-01 AT 02:07 PM (PST)My car is running perfectly. Since I lowered the boost by 1 and a half psi (from 7 and a half to 6) it has gotten slower but it still can whoop up on some preludes. I am intercooling it with a starion very soon. Gonna be running 8 psi very shortly!!!! BTW he is selling his monte carlo very soon and buying an import. I told him to get an eclipse.
