40015, Where can i get mandrel bent custom catback exhaust?
Posted by Kiku, Dec-19-02 06:29 AM
I'm in near Wilmington, Delaware. Zip code 19701. I'm looking for somewhere ANYWHERE around DE/Northern MD/Eastern PA (specially philly area) to get this done.

Thanks for the pointers.

any muffler shop should be able to do this....national chains like Meinecke might not let you supply the muffler. I took my car to a no name shop, they did an excellent job.

check yellowpages.com - search exhaust (as type of business) for where you live. You'll get a bunch of shops. Start calling them to see if they will do it. :thumbsup

You may have a hard time finding a muffler shop with a true "mandrel" bender. Most dont have them, unless its a more of a performance type shop. The majority of shops have a "press" bender, which is not quite as good as mandrel, it still bends the piping nicely without crushing it. Crush bent pipe is the piping that you see a bunch of ripples in it at the bends..thats bad.. I have press bent 3" exaust, and works great for me..from the cat back anyway.. I'd still say for 160 bucks that it costs, get the pacesetter cat back. Its true mandrel bent 2.5" pipe, and will hold plenty of horsepower...unless you can find a better deal out there for custom piping..
