Well my alterantor tensioner bolts are missing some how and I went to satan to get the parts to fix it. I got a long bolt and a nut. They didnt sell all the parts I need. From the drawing on the computer that they had it looks like I am missing one bolt. Can some one tell me how this thing is supposed to go together? Its hard to see in there. You basically need to feel your way around. I know where the long bolt goes. But what attaches to the long bolt that makes the alternator tension up? Is it like the A/C power steering tensioner?

well from what I remember there are 2 bolts, one goes through the hole in the mounting bracket and the threads are on the alternator, the other goes though the slot (which is how you adjust tension by moving the alternator and that bolt around in the slot)

So which bolt threads through the alterantor? Is it the long one or the shorter one? And is that bracket pic from a side view?

yes pic is a side view, from looking at mine the long bolt with the nut goes from the back side of the mounting bracket through "c" slot , through the alternator and then the nut goes on the end, this is the bolt you adj. tension with by moving the bolt/alternator around in the "c" slot (the one that looks like a cheese puff :)


The short bolt goes under the alternator through the regular hole


Its alot easier to remove the cruise control box (if you have CC) then its easier to reach with open end wrenches
