39963, Hit a deer.... carcus...
Posted by PowerEclipses, Dec-19-02 02:01 AM
Goin like 70-75 and it hit the tranny... its now leakin tranny fluid and it doesnt like goin into gear. I am so pissed. Do you guys have any clue what happened? Could a deer carcus bend a Tranny? Think I have to buy another tranny? The carcu hit the right side of the tranny, the lowest part. Do you guys have any suggestions what I could do?

Damn dude. That really sucks.

Check the casing for cracks. I'm pretty sure that if the casing is cracked, you'll need a new tranny.

because it was just the body of the deer, there was no head, or legs, that i could see... it was a night so i didnt see it :/ i swear if i have to buy another tranny.... im going to do some serious thinking about this car... how much would it cost to find a used tranny and someone to install it usually?

do the crazy 6 speed conversion that i've heard about for $15,000. ha.

for real, i've never head of anyone hitting an animal and having it screw up their transmission. sounds pretty crazy. might want to jack your car up and take a peek at the bellhousing or whatnot.

Probably hit the tranny so hard that it broke the seal between the case and the bellhousing. If that's the problem then you have to reseal it which means it must be taken out.

my guess is that you probably fuct up the axle to tranny seal, or popped it out. that cause your tranny fluid to leak out which would make shifting pretty difficult.

maybe it bent the pan? That could be likely.

I creamed into what I believe was the SAME raccoon body twice in one night. Once going towards friends house, again coming back!! I guess it'd gotten smacked over the median!! rofl.

Just kinda banged into my Blitz kit (had to swap it for "combat bomb")... prolly hit off of FMIC *shrug*

Whew! That's good news. The master cylinder is much easier to work on than the tranny. Sounds like you just knocked the shit out of something. Did one of the lines kink or is it the actual master cylinder thats leaking?

Hopefully I can give you a call and we can meet up soon. We've been in the hospital forever! Whenever we get home I'll call you. Luckily I have my Grammoms laptop so I can still jump on 2GNT every once in a while.
