hey guys i was inquiring about the two rebuild kits. Well hahn does not have a kit but is waht they use.

does anyone here have the hahn bottom end setup and how much does that support of power and those of you with the howell setup how much does it hold.

member i am goin turbo and i want to go low compression i do not know wich to get wich will benefit more and hold more power

the only major differences are the rods and piston rings. unless your making 400+ horses then i wouldn't worry about it

Um, you could probably count the number of 420a's running "only" 400hp on one hand.

The only major difference is the connecting rods. Crowers are rated to 700HP, but the Eagles are only rated at 400HP by Eagle. However, most feel this to be a very conservative estimate. They have been run in higher HP applications with no ill effects, from what i have heard.

hey Dyno I know that you chose the hahn setup. What did u get piston,rings,rods what else did you buy from them. Do they sell it as a kit or just by parts and then you bought the other parts seperate.

How much did it all come out to be.

why dont ya grab some weisco pistons and rings from rageengineering.com like 400$ for pistons and rings grab some eagles i doubt u cant break them,

cl 77 rod bearings and the rest of the parts for a rebuild...

lower and upper gasket kit and such ew oil pump if u want and water pump etc...

since you all are one the subject...whats the diff in price between a howell and hahn bottom end rebuild???

not sure the cheapest pistons are from raceeng.com i bleive they give u a deal if u ask for it and get rods and pistons i talked to somone who got their pistons like 50$ cheaper since they bought rods their too give it a shot, id bet money u wont break the weisco pistons or eagle rods they are nice products,

howells bottom end kit is nice but i prefer weisco pistons because ive used them for so long,

the bottom end gasket kit is like 35$ or so through forum dodge the upper end gasket set head gasket and all is like 85$

bearings like 25$ for rod bearings (clevite) and like 30$ or so for mains and then like 8$ for rear main seal

u can get an oil pump if u choose to replace it at schucks or napa for under 80$ i think the water pump is cheap from their also,

might as well change the timing belt while your in there grab one of those dayco/good year gator back/ oem whatever

that and like a case of oil u should be good

if your unsure ona good way to break ina forged piston motor u could pm me or hit me on aim and i can tell u a good way to get those rings seated

You won't break the eagles. Gary said they will hold right up to 700hp with the proper rod bolts. I think Jojo calos uses them in his car. Both Gary and darkone believe they will hold my goal of squeezing 650 HP out of this motor someday. I've never used wiesco pistons but I know they are big with the detroit muscle guy's.

I've got the Hahn's JE and Howell's Eagle and plan on pushing the 450-500 barrier someday.

Wiesco pistons are also big with the off-road (motorcycles) people. I ran a Wiesco piston in my LT250R suzuki (250cc 2-stroke race motor) and it ran like a champ without problems. although my dad did pop the motor (i'm not sure it was the piston that went) when he ran pump gas in it instead of my usual 100 octane stuff.. hehe.. doh! (this was before I bought it from him) but he said the thing was pinging all day long before it went.. so I guess that means that'd be a hella strong piston to ping all day in a built 2-stroke motor running high compression and high revs.

hehe im with breezio i run these pistons in my drag race atvs and they are great im running about 250lbs of compresion on avgas right now and it screams...

great pistons if u break the motor in well they last for a long time,
