39529, somebody has to know about these Posted by HDW823, Dec-14-02 01:24 AM
I searched the forum, and the internet, and I couldn't find any kind of review on the Borla Pro XS muffler. I know they're stainless, and Borla is a really good brand, but have any of you heard anything about them or does anybody have one? They're only about $85 which is not bad compared to the non-name brand ones.

Thanks Heather

well.. it's a univeral design that isn't meant to be on teh end of the system, it's meant more to be in the middle of the exhaust system and not seen from the outside. but other then that.. if it'll fit in the space where your muffler goes.. it should be fun. but I'm thinking it won't fit. have to do some measuring.

I think they are supposed to go on the end, because they sell tips for them on that same site. I've never used a borla muffler, but a 1 million mile warranty on an $85 stainless muffler sounds like a good deal to me. It is a good brand name for exhaust.

looks like a "turbo" muffler. the muffs they put on the older cars and V8's that have the muffs in the center of the car than run pipe out the back and weld a tip on to make it pretty. not sure if it'll work on our car given the OE muffler placement.

you could do that (what ^^^^ said) but I would probably get the muff and then just get the tip welded on one end and then welded the other on the piping where the stock muff is at. I personally would just get a muff with a tip on it already. My obx muff was like ninety something shipped and it has the tip etc on it. It is a great muff with excellent sound quality
