i had a tranny leak i posted about awhile back, and now its gone. i went under it and realized i had get a new cv boot and repack it. when i put it all back together to find a leak...there was nothing. i just got back from takin a 30-45 min drive. i was wondering if anyone else had this porblem before and if so did you have it come back and nip ya in the butt?

May not be anything left to leak, check your fluid level.

level was full before test run and after as well. and still is as a matter of fact. i know i shouldnt complain about it NOT leakin but it pisses me off that i dont know what caused it.

If the leak was on the left side of the trans, my guess would be that you just got some fluid trapped in the plastic cover that runs along and under the left side, and it dripped till it was done. that has happened to me every time that I pull my pan.

I don't recall your original post. and I don't know if it happened just after maintenance was done.

just to let ya know wikki, my original problem was that i was driving back from import revolution and the car started leaking tranny fluid and fast too. i put two pints in within 30 miles. my original thought was the plastic o-ring axle seal on the diff. but thans alot for the idea everything helps in the situation.

On my 5speed tranny, i had a very very slow drip. I noticed it from havingmy car on jackstands for about 3months. It was the drain plug even though it was screwed on REALLY tight.

I just put a little bit of gasket maker just to make a good seal on the bolt head to the tranny case and seal it (do not put it on the threads!) and that seemed to solve the problem.
