39376, How about another testpipe question? Posted by Dirty, Dec-12-02 11:22 AM
I know a gst catback will fit our cars, but will a testpipe made for a gst fit the stock piping on our cars?

The GS-T has the same pipe diameter as the GS/RS(2.25in)....so as far as diameter is concerned it will work. Actually, I run a 2.5in testpipe and it fits ok - the 2.25 one would probably fit better. As far as using one "designed" for one or the other - you only have to worry about that if the flanges are welded to the test pipe. I got my test pipe from testpipe.com - and the flanges float. You can turn the flange to mount them at whatever angle you want. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the cat flanges are the same SIZE on the GS-T and GS/RS models, I have no idea if the flange angles are the same. So if the flanges are welded - I'm not sure if it'll work. If the flanges are floating - it should work just fine.

it will not, i bought a test pipe from extreme for a gst, the flanges didnt line up, flanges on a gst are straight, GS and RS have one straight, one angled, so i took it back and they sold me a highflow cat with the flanes welded the right way for less that usual, i am dumb, i should have told them that it was for a gs or rs to begin with!

How much does a test pipe help when you have a Stock Exhaust?

Maybe I should have started this post with "a guy I know asked....." but I wanted to keep it short.
He has a rear section but his exhaust is stock other than that. I told him to get a custom exhaust and keep his muffler. He just wants a testpipe instead.
