ok i blocked off my egr tube right on the head. but now the car has a slight knock. my car is a 95 OBDI it hasnt set off the cel this was about 5 weeks ago i did this. i am curious now why it does this is it because now the engine isnt getting the air its used to getting. but if that was the case wouldnt it only affect when the engine is cold>. ok enough of my bla bla bla. anyone have this prob?

explain the knock more... blockin off the EGR will not cause any sort of knock, and since it hasnt thrown a cel, i am pretty sure that you have sealed off both mounting spots where the egr is ( and u didnt comment on any adverse idle effects)..

sort of a dulled out pop knocking, not so much a metal tinking but more like a rod bearing. the egr is blocked at both places. no real adverse idle affects. just when cold it idles lower. but that is what the egr does...,is bring it up. ?????????

exhaust leaks make a ticking metal on metal sound. I wonder if you have one.

ha. satan say's its the timing belt. wtf never heard a timing belt make a knock? beleive its the water pump or another pulley. i was hoping it was a internal head component, got plenty of backups. find out monday when its broken down. til then......
