38902, How many people are doing the 2.4 swap?? Posted by mike_d, Dec-05-02 02:39 AM
I just wanted to see how many people have or are currently doing the swap and what your progress is. My buddy and I are doing it on his 98 ESi ans so far the 2.4 block is at the machine shop being assembled with PT Turbo pistons (should have it back by next week), and we finally got the 2.0 out of the car last night. Hopefully we can start fitting the block in the engine bay by next week. How far along is everyone else?

im waiting on pistons from bstockum, shipping service is slow then when i get them with the rods my motor will hit the machine shop and assebling will occur the1bill has the motor in the car all hooked up well some what ive been told and he made a last minute decsision to go all custom on the brackets instead of messing with plates to move bolt holes so hes on hold, skrilla finished it and had it dynod with over 400hp with turbo and is now building a all motor car

The receiver car will be my 95 Avenger

Wow, you guys are all well on your way for the swap. I'm still saving and looking.
I swear it's not easy finding a 2.4 around here. Maybe this spring will bring better luck.

Hey Alain whats the difference between the PT cruiser Alt bracket and engine mount and the brackets that came on my 98 Stratus motor, what are the benefits of using those instead?

Well the PT Cruiser has its alternator in the back like our car and from the pic I have seen it looks like the pt cruiser engine mount will be easier to adapt to our car, and the mount is also the support for the power steering I didn't bought those brakets yet I just started building my engine

So far there is me, MotoFool, alain95i4, and The1Bill, that are in the process of swapping and supposedly Skrilla has already done it. Anybody else?
