What are AT's supposed to idle at? My rpm's fall below 1,000 at idle, and I wanna know if it's normal. The car feels fine, it just seems like a low idle. I'm gonna hook it up to auto-xray soon so I can see the exact #'s.

the factory service manual puts the
curb idle speed at 800 +/- 100 rpms
idle speed w/AC on 850 +/- 100 rpms (in neutral)

800 is what I get. Never bounces.

my car usually idles at about 900 rpms, but when i rev it up and it the rpms if falling back down it will stay at about 1,1k or 1k for a second or two, then it will go back down.

When I'm in drive mine idles at 200-300, when in park like 800. But recently after driving for a bit my cars idle will drop down to like 100-150 will sitting at lights!! Then it will jump back up again, I'm thinking I got an intake leak somewhere :(

i have the same problem as ^^^^ but mine stay at around 600 in drive, and go to 900 in park/neutral. also, if iv been on the interstate or if the car just started, it idles in drive at 900 or so, its just after ive been in traffic for a couple minutes that it drops.

well damn, I think mine's high. Last time, I remember my idle reading on the digital reading at around 946 or something. heh. I'll check again soon.

Mine idles at 800-950 depending on outside conditions etc..
really anything from 750-1000 is just fine, a little vacuum leak aint gonna hurt anything

it was a fluctuating at the area of 840+ and when the steering wheel was turned, up above 1k. Everything looks normal. false alarm I suppose. I have the catalytic converter code tho. :P
