how do I go about testing it to make sure it is working properly? The reason I ask is because my car idles bad and says the ISC system is malfuncioning and I've replaced the isc motor, I know the TPS is working and after the car is warmed up it runs just fine, but when it is cold it doesn't want to idle. The only thing I can think of is that the coolant temp sensor is stuck at telling the computer it is at normal temp which would tell the isc motor to be located at that point, and once it warms up it is and it runs fine.

Could also be a vaccuum leak. When mine leaked around the injecotr o-rings, it'd idle at the normal RPM, but it wqas REALLY roungh, sometimes it would die right when it would start, and sometimes i'd have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running on a cold start.

Big vaccuum leaks will also throw a code 25 - ISC, as the ECU is trying to compensate witht he ISC and it can't, so it thinks something is wrong with it.

I've checked over all the vacuum lines, how should I go about testing for a vac leak?

the coolant temp sensor, standard value is 600-800 ohms@ 77F and 9k-11k ohms@ 212F

how should I go about getting the sensor to those degrees? and what is the normal operating temp on our cars.

thats just the values in the manual, just test it when your car is cold. it should probably be around 13-15k ohms at 50 degrees, just remember the cooler it is the higher the resistance.

wouldn't it be the lower the temp the lower the resistance??? and does it sound like this could be my problem?

yeah your right i mix it up, i'm such a dildo. it should be the cooler the temp the lower the resistance.

well I tested the sensor, I put it in the freezer and at 32 degrees it had 50k ohms, put it in the oven and at 212 it had 0 ohms, at about 80 degrees it had about 6000 ohms.

also would I have to have the isc motor reset again after putting it in, because I am not positive that it has ever been reset since I put the new one in. I took it in to have it done but since it was still screwed up it may not have taken the reset.
