I'm thinking about getting a n1 turbo and I'm just thinking if it's really worth the money. I have a brospeed exhaust sitting in my garage from my old car. So is there really much of a difference in sound, performance, etc.?

if you have a non turbo, the N1 turbo will hurt for performance. if you dont have turbo, get the standard N1, thats what i bought. it does help with power, dont expect a huge gain, but you can feel it. but be prepared to have a really loud exhaust. i waited 3 months before i ordered my exhaust, just to hear what they all sound like, imo the N1 sounds the best on a non turbo, it doesnt have that all too common bumblebee sound, just put it this way, youll have fun setting off car alarms in parking garages. if its too loud, you can use the silencer that does come with it, but it takes a crap on the performance tho. i got mine for $479, check around, you can find great deals.

hahaha setting off car alarms is great :) I say get a full cat back especialy if you will eventualy be doing more mods to the car.

i might be getting a turbo a bit later...does it suck out performace alot on a nt car? i'm not going to be racing or anything like that so i dont care if it cuts a bit of hp out

3inch piping on the n1 turbo, will rob nt cars of torque. the lost of torque is gained with just a bit more high-end hp. personally, it ain't worth getting a 3in cat-back unless ur going turbo.

is there alot lost? or is it just minor that would be shown only from racing?

i'd say minor. i have the exact one you're looking at and i'm NA for the time being. so this is not based on what people have heard about back pressure and crap. yes there is a slight loss in low end. but it is very slight. honestly for me the high-end gains far outweighed the low end loss. it really feels like the engine flows more freely. it's not an extreme gain in power but you'll definately notice the high-end gain. you may not even notice the loss in low-end. if nothing else it'll sound faster :P apexi catbacks are very high quality and i love mine. bolts up perfectly. the hardest part of the install will be taking off the stock pipes. i took mine to a shop an the guy had to torch some bolts. putting in the N1 took a matter of minutes.

people will prolly start preaching 'bout losing back pressure and how your low end will completely suck. most probably didn't go with the larger piping. if there's even a possibility of you going turbo in the future go with the turbo catback. it will not seriously hurt you while you're NA. there's a chance i may not go turbo but i don't regret getting the N1 even for a second. it's a very high quality performance catback. got mine from RRE (www.roadraceengineering.com) i'm not sure but they may be on backorder now (as many places are for the FWD turbo N1) they've got great customer service though. they'll prolly just ask you a couple times if you're sure you want a turbo catback for your NA car.. no worries :)

After having tried every possible bolt-ons before going turbo, I can honestly say that a cat-back exhaust is not worth the money. You will lose some low end torque and gain a bit of horsepower from mid to high rpm's, but that's it--if you are n/a. Maybe I'm getting old, but $400-600 for 1-3 hp isn't very good. I will say that it does sound and look better.

I have a dyno of my magnaflow cat back, and nothing was lost in the low rpms. Torque and HP gains across the entire rpm band

yea as far as price, catbacks aren't necessarly worth the gains. i'm very satisfied with mine though. in all honesty a turbo kit is the best as far as cost vs performance. about 3-4g for a good 100hp or so (don't need to flame if my numbers are a bit off). that's about $40/hp or so as opposed to maybe $100/hp with a catback. but i mean it sounds mean as hell an looks really sweet. maybe not the best performance for your money but i doubt you'll be disappointed.
