38423, Coil Pack #1 Terminal Fried?? Posted by Jon, Nov-29-02 12:28 PM Noticed somthing today in my qwest to figure out whats wrong with my car. Reading through over post i have the same problems as others. My main problem simply is major hesitation / stuttering whenever i try to give it any more than average gas when the rpms are below 2000 rpms. So I've been replacing parts here and there. recently tried the fuel filter deal and today while replacing my plugs and wires i noticed that the terminal on the coil pack #1 is fried. This is the second coil pack that it's happened to. Same terminal #1. If anyone could tell me what I can test to figure out whats wrong. Thanks! | |

Posted by Nitrous_RS1997, Nov-29-02 03:33 PM make sure a previous owner( if there was one) hasnt tapped off the wiring harness for the coil pack for something like an alarm system. happened to me, one little wire through the firewall grounding out caused to my coil pack to actually melt over itself. check you plugs also, see if the ones that fire off the messed up coil look darker than the other two. | |
