3777, Anyone have their AEM CAI break?? Posted by sd_eclipse, Jun-20-01 06:28 AM The little mounting bracket on my intake broke off. Broke right at the weld on the pipe. Now the pipe has a hole in it when the weld was. Anyone ever have this happen? Im wondering if AEM would replace the thing. If not i wonder if i can just get the thing re-welding and hope the new weld covers up the hole in the pipe. Any suggestions?? | |

I took the pipe to a muffler shop to weld it back on and about 3 weeks later it broke again. I just leave it like that for now. But a muffler shop should be able to fix it, ask them to make a thicker custom bracket for you so it won't happen again. | |

3779, I remember...... Posted by eclipsekaiser, Jun-20-01 07:55 AM Way back in the old forum someone had this problem and took it back to AEM, and they replaced it of no charge. Give AEM a ring and see what they can do for you. Not sure what their number is though....any one know? | |

3781, RE: I remember...... Posted by eclipse804, Jun-20-01 11:11 AM Yup that was me...mine didn't rip a hole in the intake though, so I guess I was lucky. Give them a call and see what they can do. I had to bring them my intake to show them, and I had the older style CAI though...good luck. | |

Gave them a call last night and they were willing to take it back. Gave me a return number and address where to ship it. Don't know if they will just fix it or give me a whole new intake. We'll see how that goes. | |
