I don't want to mess with cams and stuff just yet, But I want to strenghten the head a little durring the swap/rebuild (I still don't know). Howell sells a rebuild kit for the neon for $300 all I'd need would be the springs.($99) I'd have a head thats ready for action later with cams or whatever.

the pt cruisar stuff is what u want yes the neon stuff will work though but the pt stuff is better, here is who u wnat to see for head products, www.blackdogmotorsports.com they have some extra strong rockers custom made get pt lash adjusters and bd rockers, crane/ or crower springs they have ss valves too...

Uhm...I thought that the Neon had an extremely heavy top end and wasn't capable of the revs that our lighter top ends could handle.

Well let me clarify I was speaking about the PT style ones that gary howell offers as a kit for the neon. It's a cheap way to get the head rebuild kit - the cams and gears. I would be getting the PT style, just as a kit for the neon.

Aren't Neons SOHC? Would that make a difference?

not all are SOHC, the 95-99 cars came with the same DOHC engine that we have, the flow is just reversed.

hit up blackdogmotorsports for the topend stuff he can answer any question u want, the pt stuff is superior stuff definatly...
ill have pt lash adjusters and bd rockers with crower springs...

If your just gonna be getting stock pt cruiser parts get them from Bob Kise (forum dodge, Michigan I think) he gives great discounts on all OEM parts and it will be cheaper than howell

yes, they'll work. i have pt style lifter/lasher adjusters (bought them from howell) for sale for 80 shipped. brand new
