Didnt someone make a kit for fixign the tensioner? I keep loosing my power steering/AC belt. It only stays on for about a day then it falls off. I really need to get this fixed.

Maybe I'll try that. I usually put it on then if it squeeks then i tighten it some more. Maybe I'll just tighten the shit out of it.

I would never tighten the shit out of any belt, as that can cause premature bearing failure of the componets the belt is driving, esp the tensioner pulley bearing. Always set proper tension. I have NEVER thrown a belt, and i have raced up to 7000 rpms, with the AFX UDP also. It sounds like you have a pulley mis-alignment problem somewhere, Dave. Some have gone to a 4-rib belt, instead of the 5 rib belt, and that has worked for them, so try that if you need to.

Well I took a part of a belt that lost a rib on it and I put it on. So far its been fine for 2 days. So I have a 4 rib belt now and I tightened it a little more than what I normaly tighten it to. So far so good and I have gone up to 6800 rpms a few times.

hey, i can get you the upgraded tensioner and pulley for $105 shipped to your door. You wont ever lose a belt again. It's made by mitsubishi and costs $128.73 retail. I work there and get a discount so I can hook you up with it. email me back if you want in on it.

Naaa...I get a very nice discount too. I think I could probably get it for even less than $105. But I dont need it anyway. I hit 7370rpms today on a miss shift and the belt stayed on! I think it is on for good now.
