Basically do you need a tach adapter and which one?

pn 6000-8920 or pn 6000-8933.
The 8933 is more expensive, but should eliminate CEL. W/ the 8920, you will still have a CEL.
I haven't seen the 8920, but it appears to have replaced what I bought which was 2 identical tach adaptors. It says you now only need this one piece.

EDIT... and yes, you need it.

I'll need this with the 6000-6500. So I need 2 of them or 1 of them or just the dual channel version?

You will need only 1 of either of them. with the older version, you needed 2 pieces, but I can't find that one anywhere. It appears they've updated their products lately. Again you only need 1. The only difference between them (so far as it has been explained to me) being getting a CEL and not getting a CEL. The difference in price was not worth it to me, but that's a personal preference.

I'm not running any Tach adapters. I have a CEL for everything but the coils.

If money isn't an issue, then I'd really recommend the newer version electronic trigger unit (p/n: 6000-8933). It's supposed to eliminate any ignition "hickups" and CEL. I'm currently using two older style tach adapters, and I am getting a CEL, but it's no big deal though since I've already got one from the Accel DFI.
