37188, Check Engine Light (intake manifold/hose) Posted by Showtime72, Nov-15-02 09:58 AM
Ok guys, any help would be appreciated on this. Last night i was driving and came to a stop and all of the sudden my check engine light came on. I pulled over and checked out the engine and noticed i heard a sucking sound (like a vacuum)... i followed the sound and saw that it was coming near the manifold and then on further inspection i saw that i hose that connects to the manifold had disconnected. I connected the hose back up and the sounds all went away and the car seemed to run perfectly fine. The problem was that the Check Engine light never went away so i am wondering if need to have it reset or if there maybe something else i need to do?? I do not know the name of hte hose that came off but any sort of help would be greatly appreciated!!

Yup, you need to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery negative for a few minutes (as stated in the post above).
