It's the muffler that makes the difference.

Yes, the turbo muffler is much less restrictive than ours. This is because the turbo doesn't like restrictions very much :) and it doesn't need to muffle sound as much for a turbo car, because the turbo already does a good job muffling sound.

I'm pretty sure the resonators are different on the two also. The turbo resonator does a little more of the muffling and the muffler does less. Which is why putting just the GS-T rear section is better than the whole thing, and a little louder (barely). I've often wondered what my exhaust would sound like if I replaced the resonator with a piece of straight pipe, and just ran my GS-T muffler.

How does it sound? Good? Loud? in the car my exhaust sound is pretty much drown out by the sucking of my CAI and 55mm TB, I would like to hear some exhaust. What about at highway speeds? How loud then?

Also I see your license plate in the opeing, did you use anythign to hold it there? or just prop it up?

Thanks.

i'm verry pleased with mine. it's justthe muffler off a 96' gs-t.
it makes a nice throaty sound. not like a honda(the lawnmower sound). and i'm going to my brother take off the resonater and run a test pipe when i can get enough money to pay him :(
what about taking off the cat and running a test pipe or just hollowing it out??

Let me know how you like it when you pull out the resonator. I'm thinking about doing this. I like the tone of the GS-T Muffler, but I wouldn't mind it being a little louder. So let me know what you think.

About removing the cat, I wouldn't you do need some back pressure to maintain low end torque. You will probably gain in the high end. But loose some low end pull. The cat is among the last hings I'm doing. Once I have everythign else flowing well, I'll put on a high flow cat.
