alright y'all look i joined up just to post this crisis. alright i have a 95 gs with the DOHC setup. i have that poop ass secondary air system. i'm having trouble with the "solenoid" part that costs $220 it's setting off the check engine light and pulling codes fo secondary air solenoid and O2 sensor. i know i need to fix the solenoid jigger somehow.

now part II

I plan on installing a cold air intake (aem). i was wondering if the aftermarket intakes have someway around the solenoid previously mentioned, so i don't spend money on both. or can i get some of that zinc connection cleaner stuff and hope that opens up the solenoid? i dunno i'm lookin for a sure fix. need to replace clutch too so don't wanna spend alot ya know ;)

y'all got mods listed so here goes;
NGK BKR5E plugs
ghetto intake mod: pulled off bottom part of air box, connects box to underneath fuse thinger. held filter in with zipties or twine (prefer the former over the latter, twine leaves filter loose and makes bad pops once and again) sounds GREAT, feels GREAT bogs like a mofo.

Do all your recalls and you wont have that anymore. If you buy a header its also eliminated (the brospeed has provisions but I capped it off. The only intake I've seen with provisions for it is the HKS. Lose it, you dont need it. I haven't had mine in operation since 95'

yup yup i got my whole pulsed secondary air injection solenoid removed by the dealer on a recall. they capped the pipe leading to the exhaust, they reprogrammed the ecu for the change and the put a cap on the solenoid plug.

That recall is ONLY for 5 speed tranny cars. If you have an Automatic in yours, you have to do it all yourself.
