THanx for all of your replies. Im looking at the howell 2.2 or possible a 2.4 . If i get the howell motor, they give me the options of JE Pistons in your choice of 8.6, 10.5 or 12.5 compression. Which would you guys recommend. I need to drive this car everyday so if its possible this engine cant handle everyday driving, please tell me now. If i decide to go with the 2.4, where can i buy a rebuilt or crate 2.4? so pretty much im asking everyone for their opinions on which one to get and info on the one u suggest. Thanks

if your going to go turbo 90% of people will want 8.6:1 or whatever there certain pistons are for tuning a turbo on pump gas if u want a stronger all motor car without worrying about octane grab the 10.5:1's if u want u could use 10.5:1 witha tti head gasket fopr turbo but u might wanna know alot about this stuff before u go playing with high compression and boost

12.5:1 and turbo at 5 psi is streetable when PROPERLY TUNED but YOU MUST KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO KEEP IT TOGETHER. Changes in weather and humidity can effect the way it runs and if you aren't paying attention you could detonate and have serious problems. The plus side is, on high octane race gas 15 psi and 12.5:1 compression would make some EXTREMELY fast spool up and some nice times!

If you want higher than stock compression but are worried about tuning issues, stay with 10.5:1 and work around learning to tune at that compression. If you just want to crank up the boost to a high number and not really worry about it after you get it tuned the first time, go with 8.x:1
