36122, Final solution for differential pin??? Posted by JustOne, Nov-01-02 04:23 PM
I know there were a few solutions for preventing it from coming out. What was the consensus on the best solution if there was one?
TIA Brian

Weld it. Quick, cheap, easy.

I prefer brackets. They are cheap (I spent 7 bux at a Dodge dealer). A welded pin has the chance of wearing like this:

Here is more information on the Mopar brackets, courtesy of Neons.org http://www.neons.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=43858&highlight=differential+safing
Mmmmm... good reading! Enjoy! -=B-=

Dino needs to check into the diff mod that he is getting, part of the machine work was having pins installed to hold the diff in. I had asked Carlton, (the diff modifier) to weld in the pin but he said he would machine in pins to hold it in place but I don't know how he ended up doing it.

Does anyone have a definate part number for that bracket? I've read that thread a few times but I don't get what the actual p/n for the brackets are.

Part number for the brackets is 04800059AA you need 2 of them.
I don’t know if that’s a Mopar number though. If it is all you have to do is go to a Dodge dealer and order them ~5.00 each.
I like the bracket pin idea better, it seams more natural I guess.

As far as the AT goes I am pretty sure it still has the same differential therefore it shares the same problems w/ the pin.
