ok so im driving home last night, i turn onto my road and its a little wet.. i wanted to test my Energy Suspension Motor Mount Inserts, so i slow to like 5 mph and floor it in 1st gear... wheels start hopping like a mofo,, all of a sudden, WAM!!!! sound as something is ripped under my car, i hear it bounce around under the car the whole way back, automaticly i think its my sideskirt, or front bumper, so i pull into my driveway and look, everything is there, so im like ahh nothing happend. i go into bed.. i go out today and look before school, my intake filter is missing.. im like GOD DAMNIT!!! i walk down the street in search of my lovely K&N Filter, i see it laying in this ladies yard, i pick it up, it is mangled to hell, is this supposed to happen ? haha, im not very happy with the motr mount inserts.. tia

Just looking at your sig, I'm gonna guess that the blown struts are not helping. If you have new adj. struts, then adjust them so they not so stiff. Also in your sig you have AEM CAI, they have clamps for the filters. But if none of your sig is right, then just ignore me--much like my family does!?.

You didn't have a clamp on your K&N? If that's true, that's your culprit, not the wheep hop. It woul dhave fallen off eventually anyway, they NEED to be clamped onto the intake pipe.
And yes blown struts won't help any either.

If you get wheel hop, your windshield wipers would probably turn itself "on", and/or the exhaust would hit up agaisnt the underside of the rear. With motor mount inserts, you'll more than likely just get wheel spin, and it won't completely eliminate wheel hop.

well my winshield wipers definatly dont turn on by them selves.. i mean the wheel hop isnt near as bad as before imo... totally worth $29 shipped

if you have front and rear inserts, you shouldn't get ANY hop (except because of the bad struts possibly.) unless you have a broken motor mount you don't know about or something.

i have front and rear inserts, new struts, and filled mounts on the rest, i still get hop like a mofo.

FYI for the future,, should save you some $$... you can buy K+N filter cleaner+oil... Skip the cleaner tho... just let the filter soak in a bucket for a while, rinse, soak, let it dry for a LOONG time. water injection is sweeeeet, only when its controlled/intentional. LoL

HaHa! That happened to me going through town one time. I was driving along, not pushing it at all. All of the sudden BAM!!! I just ran over something. What the hell. There was nothing in front of me. I pull over immediately. Look back down the road and I see this pink thing in the middle of the street. So I walk down to it - stop traffic - walk to the middle and pick it up. Hey, this looks like an air filter. I walk back to the side. Some dude in a Concorde pulls up - "hey, there's another piece back there". I'm like - thanks man. I'm thinking, Is this my air filter? I walk back a bit - see a little black thing in the middle of the road - stop traffic - go get it. It's the rubber grommet - Hey this is my air filter...DAMNIT! Anyways - walked back to my car- popped the hood - slapped it back on, and screwed it down with a key cause I didn't have a screwdriver. Those things are loud when you run over them.
It's bent a bit but I'll live with it. :7

wtfff
methinks the manufacturers need to rethink the rubber sleevings... they must get slippery with heat or something.. haha

yeah, i have had past problems with the filter that came with my Star kit, then i got a deal on a tech 5 filter (deal = free), and it doesn't have that rubber grommit thing, so i used it. Came loose a couple times, so i used some loc tight on the worm clamp and just have to get the clamp a little hot to remove it is all :+

At least your rubber gromett did not get injested by your turbo like mine did. :( bad juju for my turbo and injectors that day....fortunatly for me my turbo spins at like 90000 rpm and chewed that soft rubber crap up like it was nothing. No damage to anything, I was hella lucky. Anyway....I get a bit of wheel hop when I hit 2nd gear, or Im powering around a corner under boost....weird I get none at 1st gear burnouts..... So your saying that the motor mount inserts are that good huh...time to order I guess.

well on zx2's i've heard they completely eliminate wheel hop (i have some on the way :) ) but perhaps they aren't as effective on 2gnt's? I don't see why they wouldn't be.
