Obviously,
after any repair like that you need an alignment

Thats what i thought but the shop told me that I didnt becuase all they had to do was knock the lower ball joint loose and it shoulnt affect the allignment. I was going to get that done tomorrow but I just wanted some input.

hey i need help asap, let me know how you got the short drivers side axle out, from the tranny.

i have an rs also, please lmk soon, im working on the car as we speak, i've seen other threads and pics, but we don't have that little crack to put a pry bar between to pry it out right? caused i looked on my rs, it's just the axle going into the tranny and you can move it like 1mm left to right...

but how did you takes yours off? if you can call me at 707-815-5612 i need to get this done asap, thanks man

All you do is put the prybar in between the tranny case and the axel and pry it out. If you notice there is a skinny shaft that acctually goes into the tranny and there is a much larger piece that is more the size of your fist. You pry between the tranny case and that piece that is as large as your fist. It's the only gap that is there. Here is a mock up in paint

Also see this post from dino explaining exactly how to do it...

Don't pry, get a long flat head screwdriver (or something similar) place it on ridge on green thing and hit it with a hammer (screwdriver) axles like to be *POPPED* out, not pryed.

use a pry bar to pop them out just get it a couple good knocks and then it will pop.

guys see what kirby made with paint, i don't have that gap clearance to actually pry it out or pop it?

there is no space it's just a solid peice to the tranny, no gap or anything to pry or pop?

lmk thanks

axles shouldn't really be pried out, they should be popped. here is how i did mine. the picture is for the passanger side axle, the procedure works the same for the driver's side.
