35858, ? for People with Dataloggers

I'm using a generic obd-2.com datalogger like many of you. I never noticed this before, but my TPS% never breaks 30%! At WOT, the datalogger says 30%. Idle is 6%. I suppose this may be one of the idiosyncrasies of using a non-model-specific logger. Or maybe my TPS is trash. So, please log some TPS data and let me know what you get. I'd prefer not to chase down electrical demons if this is software related.

Hey Corbin, I just checked mine. I get 12 with throttle full closed and 73 with it full open. I just did it in the garage and I did not start the car since I don't want to have to open the garage door and let all the heat out. I can't imagine that tps would be any different with the car running. I will try and do it tommorrow with the engine running and post the results. BTW I have the same datalogger as you. Neil

well one of the guys in my club has this 1000 dollar datalogging equipment and I only get 75% at WOT. I meant to ask about this a long time ago and forgot. Good post

Our TPS sensors don't use standard voltages like many do.. 5.0V is not WOT (WOT is like 3.7v on our TPS) and idle may show as more than 0%. Nothing to worry about - the car knows what is going on, even if the datalogger doesn't. The output voltage is more important than the datalogger-percived % anyway, as that is what the ECU computes from.

If everyone else gets 75% at WOT and I get 30%, then I may have a problem. I'll take a voltmeter and check the sensor. I think I have a spare TPS too. Heh...that'd be funny if my car has been thinking its been running at half throttle for the past few months (last time I dissassembled the TB). Thanks for responding guys!
