My friend has a 1999 Civic SI with AEM Cold Air, Apexi N1 and cam pulleys. What should he run in the 1/4? He claims like 14.9 but I think hes full of it.

Sounds a bit fast for him. When I was NA, I had several 99-00 SI's pull against me....seems to be quite an even match.

si's are quick... the only honduh, other than a swapper/s2k to take me by a cuple cars... stock for stock, they will beat us..

w/mods, it makes it tougher to beat em...
hope he cant launch for shit, and keep it to da floor

yeah I'm not sure what your mods are, but they have 20hp over us stock but we have 20 more lb of torque. So you figure pound for pound with the same mods they still have and edge. And I think they weigh a little less than us, like 200lbs. When I was NT I had one smoke me pretty bad. But one of the first cars I went looking for when I went turbo was an SI. And happy to say, he got OWNED! :D

with those mods.. mid 15's if he's a good driver. maybe just a little quicker.

i just raced my friend today. he has a 99 SI, its decked out. its gotta CAI, Cams, GSR pistons and rods, underdive pulley, overdrive pulleys, stage 3 clutch, full exhaust w/header, plug wires, fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator, lightened flywheel, i think thats about it beside z tires and full suspension. Well i kicked his ass twice, and he car drive. he use to have a 2gnt but sold it and got a gst and bought the honda for when the eclipse was being worked on. on my car i have: CAI, 4-1 header, gutted cat, muff(rear section), plug wires, new valves (stock), getto ass self ported intake mani/TB, UDP, well thats it not counting supension and interior work. also yesterday i was going down the interstate and saw i silver eclipse ahead of me hauling ass. i caught up and burned his ass. it was a GST with a muff(thats all i could see), now this doesn't seem right to me. i shouldn't be beating cars like this sould i with the mods i have? should i?

well when all i had was CAI and exhaust i beat a 99 SI by a car and a half and he had rims tires, CAI, exhaust, headers, and Nitrous(but he didn't use the N2O) i know he was pissed off when i beat him because he said he beats eclipse rs/gs all the time so.... i dunno ;)

you guys must like to drive high, your (baisically)stock 2gnt is not beat a gst no matter what. i raced my best friend with a gsx from a roll and he smoked me by atleast 10 car lenghts. i would check under your hood for an object shaped like a hair dryer attached to the headers(manifold whats the diff?) ;) :P :)

for whoever knows the fixed up Si, it was pretty much a waste of his time to put in "GSR" pistons. Type R pistons i can see, cause they have a substantialy higher compression ratio, but GSR pistons would really do a B16A no good at all.

14.9 is very reasonable for an SI with those mods as long as he knows how to drive and has a strong engine...buddy of mine in my car club has a 99 SI with just an intake and he ran a 15.1 best and averages 15.3-4

How can u put 1.8 liter Integra Pistons in a 1.6 Liter Si motor? I didnt think that they were the same Bore.

I have worked on b18xx and b16a motors, they are the same physical block just with a different bore, or was it crank? It has been a while, like 4 years now, but i think it was the cyl size that was different. Oh well just something to keep in mind. I don't believe that a 1.8 cyl just slides into a 1.6 block, some boring is needed (if i remember correctly).

Sorry if that response goes in circles i put that up there so a honda guy can clarify for me!

sorry i just asked him it was type R pistons and rods. i'm a dumb fuck when it comes to hondas. and i did beat the GST on the interstate but it just didn't seem right to me either, but we were going way over 100 so maybe his speed limiter screwed him.

yeah a SI can mos def do a 14.9.........my friends integra LS did 15.7 it is nonvtec with out any major mods......

but......another budy of mine beat a gsx eclipse 1998 from start all the way till 75....with his INTEGRA LS......with a type r TRANSMISSION SWAP.....no exhaust.......just headers and a CAI......

i can't beilieve it.....I saw the GSX churp of 4 tires too...or at least the back ones.......
