i went to this web site http://www.2gnt.com/www/files/pcmcode.htm that stated i could check my cel by turning my ingition a couple of times and counting the light flashes, and i counted 1 and a 2 which in turn is 12 same for 64 and then 55 which is the end of the reading it said. there was a pause between each number. also it said that 12 was this: "direct power input to the PCM has been disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles" what the hell does that mean and also 64 means this: "Catalytic converter efficiency failure" it also told me to check the Exhaust manifold for cracks / Replace catalytic converter does all this sound right.i also went to autozone and they told me that i had a obd I connector and that they would have to go under my hood to check it but couldn't cause it was raining.thats why i did it my self with the key.please help

Sounds like you did it right.

12 is a nothing code, it's almost always on, ignore it. 64 almost always means for cat is dyning/dead - replace it and it'll go away. 55 is just end of codes..

Well the car should have an obd2 interface as well but obd2 tools can still read it regardless. But anyways it sounds like you have a bad cat or something. 12 and 55 always appear with the keydance those are kind of like starting/stopping codes.

ok also i can reset the code and it go away for a week but later comes back on that was before i check it today would that call for a new cat and also how would i know with out going to a shop that my cat is going bad it doesn't smell like rotten eggs or anything it smells like oil burning out the exhaust, but no smoke, saying i did it right should i still have someone use the obd tool to make sure or should i replace the cat and also i priced out some OE cats and they are like 175 but a high flow is 60-100 which should i do i don't want it to be all loud and shit.

Go with the high flow that won't make your stock exaust much, if any, louder. Yes the cat must be going bad. I guess it "could" be your o2 sensor but I doubt it because it has it's own code. If you smell any smell at all I would go ahead and replace it. Just have the mechanic check it before he installs the new one and take it to someone you trust. But also do a comp check to see if you are burning oil due to pistons.

12 is not a start code....its like "pcm has been disconnected in the last 50 key turns", no biggie at all

Yeah, it's a nothing code.

it doesn't trigger a CEL, and it's there 99% of the time when you check it.
