Well, for as long as I've had my car back together after the rebuild I've had a small tranny leak. It was leaking where the tranny bolts up to the motor. After discussing this with some friends of mine we figured it was my input shaft seal that was probably leaking. Well, 6K miles later my clutch is starting to slip. I'm thinking I got some tranny fluid splashing on my clutch or something. This slippage is BAD and it came from outta nowhere....my clutch has been 100% fine and now all of a sudden it's slips like a mutha. What should I do? In about 2 weeks I'm pulling my motor and tranny again to fix my headgasket and tranny leakage, and now I have to inspect this clutch out. The clutch tries to grab, but when it slips it first feels like wheel hop, then just straight slips. I just hope I can clean it off and break it back in....because I don't have another $750 laying around for another CM stage 4. What can I do guys? Are you sure its tranny fluid and not oil? I'm not a clutch guy at all, but i would *think you could clean off the clutch and reuse it. Brake parts cleaner comes to mind to clean it. That stuff will take anything off. After you get the tranny off, then you should be able to tell whats leaking for sure. You will just have to go from there really. I'm just not real sure if the oil would damage the clutch disk facings or not..hopefully ohters may help with this..

I read somewhere that dino said that the clutch can be cleaned and reused, so if it is just random fluid contamination it should be ok. I might have read that somewhere in the archives. You might want to try a search and see if you can find the thread.

Yeah, same thing happened to me. Quit slipping your clutch or you're going to kill it. Probably your input shaft seal that's leaking. I just barsoled my clutch and took it easy on it for a week, and i haven't had any problems since. I can get you the part number if you need it.

It's about $35, and typically it takes them two to three days to get it. You'llhave to open the trans case to install it - you can't pull it out, it has to be pressed out frokm the back.
