Trying to do a JDM conversion on an Eclipse would be like doing a JDM conversion on a Dodge Avenger, or Dodge Neon. Yes our car is American built, and sold in Japan, with only minor differences. It's definately NOT a Japaneese car, since it was built in Normal, Illinois. If you want advise on a JDM swap, go buy a 240SX and turn it into a Silvia.

Don't they have a Second GEN Eclipse GT?
Go with a 6G72TT if you are going to do any swapping :-) :thumbsup

You can build a JDM eclipse. The true euro tails, amber corners. RSR exhaust or something from japan. Maybe a bomex kit. Buy some carmate shit, napolex, air spencers, etc. I have a few JDM knicknacks in my car. It's pretty fun to grab up all u can from Japanese car culture. The squash air spencers are the best ever. I have a broadway mirror too. It has that blue tint. So much better than stock. No more bright ass truck lights. It absorbs the glare. The tough thing- doing the JDM engine swap. 4G63T. Maybe a 4G63 NT motor. Not sure if Japan believes in NT eclipses tho.

a 4g63 swap into a 2gnt would not be a very cost effective setup to do. dropping an h22 prelude engine into a civic/accord would be much easier than 420a>4g63cyclone(jspec 4g63). first of all there are companies that make motor mounts for said swaps in hondas. but as of now, no such swap mounts exist for the 2gnt. the engine is backwards in a way, you would need a new ecu and whatever other electronic components to make it work. it would take a rediculous amount of money to do. lets see cyclone4g63 plus electronics($3-5000)transmission(500-1500) labor, dont forget custom fabrication for the motor mounts(3000-5000)right there, you are close, or more than ten thousand dollars. for that price, im willing to bet that for that amount of money, with your 420A you can make a car that can compete with hahn racecrafts factory car an 11 second rs. if i had 10+thousand dollars to throw around, i wouldnt convert my eclipse to J-spec, id build one hell of a car. lets see what would be better, a jspec motor with a e.t. of low 14's, or a 420a sleeper with an e.t. of 11-12 seconds, im sure many of us would go with the 420a, after all, we all non-turbo or turbo, love our 420a's. after all, this is the 2gnt forum, not a gs-(t or x)forum. dont get me wrong, you factory turbo guys, we love you too. i hope i helped a little.
later fellas(and ladies)
