34540, RE: Leakdown test? Posted by MetalJim, Oct-10-02 07:16 AM A leakdown test will prove if(and how much) the rings are to blame for loss of compression. If you do a leakdown test and you are still getting bad compression then you can blame the valves, valve seats, valve seals, head, head gasket, or a hole in the piston...but it wont pinpoint exactly which one is actually to blame. | |
