Hey guys, I just got a 99 RS a few weeks ago with 38,000 miles on it for $7800. After I got the car I put some 17" rims with kumho tires, and gen 3 altezzas, indiglo gauges; everything else is all stock. I have some extra money left over ($5,000). I was just asking for suggestions on what I should do with the money. I definately want a stereo system and cat back exhaust system. Another thing to keep in mind is, I dont want too much speed right now because I got in a lil trouble back in the summer, and just turned 16, and barely got my liscense for being in the trouble, and if i get a ticket in the next year I get my license taken away till 21. So no street racing, or anything to make me tempted, for the next year,I cant get caught. So some suggestions would be helpful. (spend some money on show,save some money for in a year when i can use the speed?, or any suggestions. Thanks guys!

Uh 5k? Get a hahn stage 2 and a howell bottom end kit.......then have it installed. Presto Tango..........300 hp. 2800 for HRC stage 2 and 1k for the bottom end kit. You could still buy some stereo stuff from Will after that.

What are your long term goals? Do you really want a turbo in the future? If yes, then i would build up the motor first with forged internals( stronger pistons and rods to handle lots of boost). Depending on how you go about it, plan on spending around 2 grand for a motor rebuild, not including labor if you dont do that. A turbo kit, lets say a stage 2 from HRC, around 3 grand there, but you can get that later if you like, at least the motor will be ready. You can then spend the rest of the money on things like: new clutch(if you are 5spd), gauges for the turbo, appearance mods, and whatever else you may want. If you do plan on going turbo, dont waste your money on a header, or cold air intake, as these will have to go with a turbo. Maybe a bored throttle body, motor mount inserts, and some cylinder head work would be excellent additions for a turbo, and even staying N/A.

I tell you what, give it all to me and I hold it for a year for you…For a small fee of course!! ;)

Seriously, a turbo will be too tempting. I would go with a cat back, lowering springs, some handling mods, sound system, and body kit. :) Then save the rest.
